Hello, students! You must schedule a test as soon as your instructor assigns an evaluation. I encourage making this reservation as soon as possible because the time slots may fill up and the test facility will not be able to accommodate students who do not have a reservation. How to make a test reservation ?
Students will need to reserve a time to take an assessment in the test center. To make a reservation, follow these steps:
- Navigate to us.prairietest.com
- Click on “login”
- Click on “sign in with google”.
- Login to UCR using your @ucr.edu email address and complete authentication.
- From the home page, under the “Exams available for reservations”, click on the “make a reservation” button next to the exam you would like to make a reservation for.
- Click “reserve this session” next to the time and date you would like to take the exam.
- You can verify that the reservation was made by going back to the home page. The reservation should appear under “Current Exam”.
Notice that the scheduler runs on Military time. Therefore, if the time slot has a time greater than 12:00, you will need to subtract 12 from the hour field to find the pm time you are scheduled. For example, if you schedule an exam at 17:00, this is really 5:00pm.

How to cancel a test reservation?
If you are unable to make your test reservation, you can cancel and reschedule. To cancel a reservation, follow these steps
- Navigate to us.prairietest.com.
- Click on “login”
- If it prompts you to, click on “sign in with google” and login to UCR using your @ucr.edu email address.
- From the home page, under the “Current and Future Exam Reservations” header, click on the exam that has the reservation that you would like to reschedule.
- Under the “Reservation” header, click on “Change or delete this reservation”.
- Click on “Delete this reservation” if you would like to cancel or click on “Reserve this session” next to the time you would like to reschedule to.

If you miss your reservation
If you miss your reservation and there are empty time slots to take the exam at a different time, please email the test center at testcenter@cs.ucr.edu. They will be able to cancel your missed reservation so you can make a new reservation for a future time. You can also come to the test center and the proctor can cancel your reservation.

Instructions before the exam
On the day of your appointment, report to the test center (Winston Chung Hall 132) no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Unfortunately, the test center will not be able to accommodate early starts to exams.
Once you arrive at the test center, please show your photo ID to the proctor at the proctor table. They will check you in and tell you which computer you will be taking your exam on.
On you are assigned a computer, you will need to login to us.prairietest.com using the sign-in with Google option and entering your UCR NetID and password. This will require you to use your phone for 2-step authentication. Once you logged-in, please put your phone on silent or switch it off and place it in your backpack. Please place your backpack on the floor under the desk.
At the scheduled exam time, the proctor will start the exam. Once the proctor does this, you will need to click the exam you are taking and start the exam on your prairie test window.
This will launch PrairieLearn and you may begin your exam in case your exam is on PrairieLearn.

Instructions during the exam (PriarieLearn)
In order to have your exam graded, students must save and grade the exam. There are two ways to do this. The first way is to grade each question as you complete it. To do this, click on the “Save and Grade” option. Note, once you choose this option, you are not able to go back and change your answer.
The other option is to grade all the questions at the end of the exam. To choose this option, click on “Save Only” to move on to the next question. Then at the end of the exam, choose “Assessment Overview” from the right hand corner. Click on “Grade Saved Answers”.
If you end an exam without grading your answers, please tell the proctor. They will re-open the exam and allow you to request the “Grade All Saved Answers”.
Once all of your questions have been graded, you will need to end your exam. Click on the tab for prairie test and click on “End exam” -
If you find an error in the exam (PriarieLearn)
Please inform the proctor. They will assist you in submitting a bug report in PrairieLearn by clicking on the “Report an issue with this question” button. The bug report will be addressed by the instructor. After you submit the report, continue to complete the exam. Please do not take a picture of the question. The report will give the instructor all the necessary information.

After the exam
That is it! Please gather your personal items and you are ready to leave the test center. As you exit, please tell the proctor at the table your name and that you have completed the exam. Make sure to return any scratch paper.

Scratch Paper and Pencils
Before or during the exam, you may request scratch paper. The proctor will provide you with a scratch paper and a pencil. You must return the scratch paper and pencil at the end of the exam before leaving the test center.

How clean is my testing space and equipment ?
This testing facility aims to provide one of the best testing experiences which includes clean and sanitized seats, desks and equipments. The testing facility and its workstations are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized on a weekly basis.
If you would like to take additional sanitation measures before or during your test, the CSE Test Center will provide you with sanitation supplies to cleanse your space and workstation. Please reach out to the proctors present during you test timings for the sanitation wipes and supplies.

How to take the exam?
After you have logged into PrairieTest, you will take the exam in canvas. Please open UCR Canvas in a separate tab and maximize that tab on your screen. Follow UCR’s login procedure. Navigate to your course and complete the exam.
If you discover an error in the exam, please notify the proctor. They will assist you in filing a bug report, which will be emailed to your instructor for resolution. Continue with the exam when you have submitted the report. Please do not photograph the question. The report will provide all of the relevant information to the instructor.

How to take the exam?
After logging into PrairieTest, you must begin the PrairieTest exam to begin your exam timer. You may now begin your written exam.
